The Performance Pro is an upgrade to Corsair’s Performance 3. As such, it is also a SATA III 6 Gbps drive but with faster speeds. The drive reaches a sequential read speed of 515 MB/s and a write speed of 440 MB/s for the 256 GB model. This numbers decrease to 500 MB/s and 340 MB/s for the 128 GB model. IOPS numbers for both models are 65,000 and 60,000 respectively.
Inside the Performance Pro is Marvell 88S-9174 6Gbps controller along with supercharged synchronous NAND flash modules. In truth, the internal components of the Performance Pro is identical to those found inside the Plextor PX M2P SSD. The enclosure of this drive is capable of protecting the drive from forces of up to 1500 G. While most multi-drive RAID configurations do not support TRIM, the Performance Pro supports both. The Mean Time Between Failure of this drive is 1,500,000 with a warranty of three years.

Reviews:
A great deal of credit has to go to Corsair for their decision to revisit and fine tune the Marvell 9174 controller because it is the star of the show here. Its performance surpasses just about every other SSD we have tested in random, or incompressible, data testing and Marvell does so by making the 9174 controller price very attractive to manufacturers who can then pass this on to the consumer.
