Venus Pro 3

The Comay brand may not ring a bell to most but their products can compete nonetheless. One of them is the Venus Pro, a SATA III SSD capable of reaching a maximum sequential read speed of 555 MB/s and a maximum sequential write speed of 525 MB/s. The drive is available in 40, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240 and 360GB capacities and comes with a limited warranty of three years.

IOPS for the Venus Pro at 4k aligned random write disk transfer is 85,000. Its sequential speeds is similar to the Vertex 3 and WildFire, primarily because they share the same controller: SandForce’s SF-2281. The drive also utilizes the same Intel 25nm synchronous NAND flash memory modules.

The Venus Pro, however, is far from the “ordinary SandForce SATA III SSDs” that currently flood the market. It is one of the first drives to feature power loss protection with the help of a built-in UPS. This SSD also has overload protection, which protects the data inside it whenever a surge of power occurs.

The Comay Venus Pro 3 SATA 3 SSD family is yet another of the long arm of ‘SandForce Driven’ SSDs and it’s performance is as we would expect it for a typical LSI SandForce controlled SSD.
