Samsung’s PM800 is an mSATA SSD and can be only found on the company’s laptop computers. The drive is available in four capacities namely 32 GB, 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. The PM800 has a sequential read speed of 220 MB/s while its maximum sequential write speed is 85 MB/s. The host transfer rate of this SSD is 300 MB/s.
The PM800 series of SSD is powered by Samsung’s very own S3C29MAX01 controller. Inside it are 30 nm NAND flash memory modules and a K4T2G314OE on-board cache. This drive consumes very little power as it absorbs only 0.22 W when active and 0.08 W when idle. The drive has a Mean Time Between Failure of 1,000,000 hours and can withstand a force as high as 1500 G. The drive should be operated within the temperature range of zero to 70 degrees and vibrations should not exceed 20 G.

All fun aside, the m800 mSATA is an amazing drive and, being a new Series 9 owner with this as the standard, its good to see that Samsung values quality components in its product.
