Ultra Plus

Ultra Plus SSD is one of two solid state drives simultaneously introduced by SanDisk at the start of 2013. This SATA III 6 GBps drive can deliver peak perfomances of 530 MB/s and 445 MB/s for sequential read and write respectively while IOPS for 4k random read is 82,000. The Ultra Plus is available in 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB capacities.

Inside the Ultra Plus SSD is Marvell’s 88SS9175 controller, a less power-consuming version of the 88SS9174 found on SSDs like Plextor M3 and Intel 510. This controller is accompanied by 19nm eX2 ABL MLC NAND Flash modules. This setup allows the Ultra Plus SSD to absorb only 0.12 W of power when active. This solid state drive comes with a three-year warranty.

Reviews:

anandtech:

Overall the Ultra Plus is a tough drive to recommend over other similarly priced SSDs simply because it doesn’t perform as well as its competitors same price class. If low power is a concern however, the Ultra Plus may fit the bill if you have a niche application.

hexus:

The SanDisk Ultra Plus is one of those drives. It offers all the benefits of solid-state storage, including silent operation, near-instant access, no moving parts and a decent jolt of performance, but can’t escape the fact that faster drives are available at around the same price.
