Along with Edge Tech’s renaming to ETC comes a new SATA 2 SSD, Blaze. The drive is available in six capacities, namely 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 120 GB, 240 GB abd 480 GB. The maximum read speed is said to be 285 MB/s and maximum write speed is at 275 MB/s. Maximum write IOPS is 50,000 but the drive can only sustain 30,000.
The SSD is a MLC-type NAND flash with a SandForce SF-1222 controller. It has a Mean Time Between Failure of 2 million hours and a limited warranty of three years. It supports TRIM and SMART as well as DuraWrite and Wear-leveling technologies. The drive also comes with a toll-free tech support.
